Bahrain in 48 hours

In the profession of an artist and dancer there are countless exciting experiences – big stages, emotional performances, wonderful celebrations and weddings that one becomes part of, but among the most incredible opportunities are the travels! We have been all over Bulgaria, through our performances we have seen big cities, villages, all kinds of landmarks. Travels around the Balkans are also not uncommon. One of our most exciting adventures, however, was in hot Bahrain.

The light show "Moonlight" had to be presented in the most famous part of the capital of Bahrain – Manama. The stage for our show was right in the center of the Bahraini bay, in front of the skyscraper hotel "Four Seasons".

To reach Bahrain we had a long journey ahead of us – two flights, with a layover in Istanbul. A whole day in planes, airports, a nice little restaurant in the center of Istanbul and a lot of excitement for our next (only full day) in Bahrain! A little after 10:30 PM the plane's wheels finally touched Bahraini soil and our first breath in Manama was filled with ... unexpected warmth and humidity. Even at night the air humidity there is enormous and it took some time to get used to it. The next day was all ours! To explore, tour and learn as much as possible about the local world, and in the evening we were expected to perform a UV light show.

In our brief free time we managed to see the biggest landmarks of Manama – one of the largest mosques in the world Al Fatih (Al Fatih Mosque or Great Mosque), the National Museum of Bahrain, the Manama market (Manama Suq), as well as to enjoy sea views, horizons with skyscrapers and delicious food. It was already time for the show!

Al Fatih Mosque. You can enter it, there are free tourist tours with very kind ladies who explain about the history of the mosque and the prayers.

We always arrive at least an hour earlier than our stage time before a performance. In Manama we allocated even more time because of the unpredictable traffic. With our luggage packed and ready for takeoff (since our return flight was in the evening immediately after the performance) – we arrived at the Bahraini bay. The preparation for the UV light show also includes UV paint, which in the hot, humid air had become a bit more unruly and difficult to work with. We were already in love with Bahrain, so we quickly forgave it the climatic differences and threw ourselves into intense preparation. The light show also included two other types of glowing wings and glowing feathers. The emotion of going on stage with such a view, in front of an audience in Bahrain is indescribable! The lights go out, in the darkness only the UV spotlights guide us, the music starts – it's showtime!

After an unforgettable performance with a wonderful audience, many new emotions and memories it was time to catch a taxi to the airport and quickly say one "Ciao!" to Bahrain. What we experienced later seemed like a whole week, not one day. We'll definitely see each other again, Manama, but next time – for longer!
